Ponnambalam Arunachalam

Sir Ponnambalam Arunachalam (1853-1924) was a prominent Sri Lankan Tamil politician and civil servant during the British colonial era. He was born in Colombo, Sri Lanka (then known as Ceylon) and was educated at St. Thomas' College, Colombo and the University of London. Arunachalam served as a civil servant in the colonial administration, and was known for his advocacy of Tamil rights and his efforts to promote Tamil education and culture.
