Scholar M.C. Sithileppi

 Scholar M.C. Sithileppi was born in Kandy in 1838 as a lawyer M. C. Sithileppi led the Islamic revival. To enlighten the Muslims, he started the 'Muslim Nation' Sanji Kai and the Muslim Education Council. Arabi Pasha, who was exiled from Egypt (United Arab Republic) by the British, came to this country in 1883. He supported Sithilebai's activities. Scholar Chithilep was instrumental in providing religious general education to Muslim students through Marudanai Sahirak College. Sithileppi Vidyalaya in Kandy still remembers his name. He died in 1898.
