Bangladesh is a country located in South Asia, bordered by India to the west, north and east, and the Bay of Bengal and Myanmar to the south. Its official name is the People's Republic of Bangladesh, and its capital and largest city is Dhaka. Bangladesh has a population of over 160 million, making it one of the most populous countries in the world. It covers an area of approximately 147,570 square kilometers, with a diverse landscape that includes fertile river deltas, extensive mangrove forests and the world's largest mangrove forest, the Sundarbans.
